    Job Description and Key Responsibilities including Virtual/Remote Expectations
    Graduate Assistant (GA) / Intercollegiate Athletics - Facilities and Athletics Operations The Graduate Assistant for Facilities and Athletics Operations supports the SUNY Oswego Intercollegiate Athletics administration in all aspects of the 24 Intercollegiate programs and will assist the Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations (ADA-IO) in the daily operations of the Athletics department, including event planning, communications, and managing facilities and student worker staff. This GA will receive experience and training within an NCAA DIII Intercollegiate Athletic Program.

    Responsibilities:

    • Athletic Event planning and logistics
    • Communicating with opposing teams, officials, and all other game-day staff;
    • Managing and facilitating the set-up and breakdown of athletic events
    • Update Memorandum of Instructions (MOI) for each sport program annually, and schedule meeting to discuss
    • Develop Visiting Team Guide
    • Supervise game-day staff, interns, and student employees
    • Serve as game-day administrator and support the game manager with troubleshooting as needed
    • Coordinate all aspects of facility management, including scheduling practices, competitions, special events, and other activities
    • Act as site supervisor for after-hours facility requests
    • Work closely with athletic teams and campus partners to ensure all practices and competitions are scheduled in Event Management System (EMS)
    • Contribute to the overall success of the intercollegiate athletics program by performing all other duties as assigned by the ADA-IO and AVPIA.

    All graduate assistants must be enrolled in a SUNY Oswego graduate program; non-degree students and those only seeking post-baccalaureate certification are not eligible.

    Ability to work on-campus during normal business hours, plus nights and weekends, is required.
