Eligibility Requirements

To hold this assistantship, students must:

  • Maintain a minimum cumulative graduate GPA of 3.0.
  • Be registered for at least 9 graduate credits during each term of the assistantship.
  • Be enrolled as a full-time graduate student in good academic standing.
  • Current enrollment in a graduate degree or certificate program

Additional eligibility or program-specific requirements may apply as outlined by the Graduate Department and the appointing department.

Position Overview

Graduate Assistant (GA) / Intercollegiate Athletics - Facilities and Athletics Operations The Graduate Assistant for Facilities and Athletics Operations supports the SUNY Oswego Intercollegiate Athletics administration in all aspects of the 24 Intercollegiate programs and will assist the Assistant Athletic Director in the daily operations of the Athletics department.

Position Overview

  • Develop and execute marketing and promotion plans for all 24 intercollegiate athletic programs.
  • Create and implement marketing strategies to increase attendance, enhance fan experiences, and improve the gameday atmosphere for home contests.
  • Develop a comprehensive student engagement plan to increase awareness of and attendance at home contests.
  • Aide in development, monitoring, and maintaining a consistent social media presence.
  • Create engaging and diverse social media content for SUNY Oswego Athletics.
  • Work with Residence Life and Housing, Auxiliary Services, student organizations, and other campus partners to effectively promote home events.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the intercollegiate athletics program by performing all other duties as assigned by the AAD-AC.

Any restrictions to the type of student who would be eligible?

  • All graduate assistants must be enrolled in a SUNY Oswego graduate program; non-degree students and those only seeking post-baccalaureate certification are not eligible.
