Eligibility Requirements

To hold this assistantship, students must:

  • Maintain a minimum cumulative graduate GPA of 3.0.
  • Be registered for at least 9 graduate credits during each term of the assistantship.
  • Be enrolled as a full-time graduate student in good academic standing.
  • Current enrollment in a graduate degree or certificate program

Additional eligibility or program-specific requirements may apply as outlined by the Graduate Department and the appointing department.

Position Overview

The HCI program produces a high volume of research outputs.

Key Responsibilities

  • This GA is responsible for helping students with publications, developing new research areas - and assisting students with IRB applications. They also are responsible for many of the public events we undertake such as school visits, VR lab demos etc.

Behavior Expectations:

  • The HCI program is small and friendly - I talk to the GAs regularly - we talk online - or during normal circumstances f-2-f - most days. I do not set regular hours for the GAs but they are assigned work and expected to complete it in a timely fashion.

List any Learning Outcomes related to the GAs Academic Program

  • Many HCI students tie their masters research projects to work undertaken while working as a GA - multiple publications have been produced by previous research GA's in the HCI program.
