Eligibility Requirements

To hold this assistantship, students must:

  • Maintain a minimum cumulative graduate GPA of 3.0.
  • Be registered for at least 9 graduate credits during each term of the assistantship.
  • Be enrolled as a full-time graduate student in good academic standing.
  • Current enrollment in a graduate degree or certificate program

Additional eligibility or program-specific requirements may apply as outlined by the Graduate Department and the appointing department.

Position Overview

Assist the CSTEP Director and staff with the implementation and operation of the CSTEP program. The duties of the GA will include general office duties as required, such as answering phones, scheduling meetings, maintaining student records, assisting the CSTEP Director with monitoring and updating the CSTEP website, social media accounts and email communication, and providing administrative and planning support for CSTEP events and activities.  

In addition to providing support in the administrative functioning of the CSTEP Program, GA’s will have an important role in the academic objectives of the program. GA’s will mentor and tutor students enrolled in the CSTEP program, assist the CSTEP Director in the overseeing student case management and provide support with tracking academic objectives and goal of the program.
 

Behavior Expectations:

  • Prior to taking time off, the GA would be required to discuss with their immediate supervisor. For an absence due to illness the GA is required to send an email to the CSTEP Director.
